MDM Alliance Group releases its MDM modeling procedures guidebook and prebuilt data models |

Paris and London, September 10, 2008 - The open and neutral MDM Alliance Group (MAG) community announces the availability of the international version of its MDM modeling procedures guidebook and its first prebuilt data models. Originating from Orchestra Networks, a leading Master Data Management Software vendor, this guidebook has had further enhancement and contributions from the MAG members and describes a complete UML procedure to attain sustainable data modeling for the implementation of Master Data Management solutions. These UML procedures are freely available from the MAG website. Many Software Vendors, Consultants and Systems Integrators have endorsed these state-of-the-art data modeling procedures and the MAG community continues to pursue their development with new members all over the world. A vitally important goal of Master Data Management is the avoidance of the "siloed MDM effect" as usually seen with entities such as Customer, Employee, Partner, etc. The core business data model must remain sufficiently generic and universal, to encompass any type of business concept such as Products, Tangible assets, Real estates, Budgets, Human Resources, etc. To accelerate this type of modeling, the MAG community also publishes an initial set of prebuilt business data models. These data models are modeled in UML and are freely available from the MAG website providing numerous business concepts such as: Party (Organization, Person), Party Role (Employee, Customer, Partner...), Party Relationship (Employment Contract, Customer Agreement, Family...), Asset (Real Estate, Tangible Assets...) Address, Contact, Event, Skill, Position, Pay terms, etc. Other prebuilt data models and improvements of existing models will be published by MAG members over time. "Companies are eager to reform their information systems but find that their SOA strategies provide only a cosmetic veneer as the services they rely on have poor data quality due to data duplication and other data integration shortcomings. Companies who have embraced the MAG modeling procedures in their implementation of Master Data Management have benefited by the enforcing of data quality governance." said Pierre Bonnet ñ Founding Member of the MDM Alliance Group . "For this reason the MAG community has been founded to freely propose UML procedures and prebuilt data models to accelerate sustainable reform of information systems in a secure way." Both MDM Modeling Procedures guidebook and prebuilt data models are available from the MDM Alliance Group website at http://www.mdmalliancegroup.com/download/ About MDM Alliance Group - www.mdmalliancegroup.com The MDM Alliance Group is a community of Software Vendors, Consultants and Systems Integrators, who jointly invest their time and intellectual property in the development of a common best practice and procedure approach for the successful and sustainable implementation of Master Data Management projects.
